This can involve devising new policies, innovative business models, introducing new technology, training and cultural programmes, to accelerate and manage the complexity presented by the transition.

The Opportunity

Our UK Sustainability and Climate Services Group is looking for a Senior Consultant in carbon management and assessment for a range of projects which might include developing Net Zero strategies and action plans; sustainability supply chain management; or impact assessment for major infrastructure and other development. We are looking for someone who acknowledges our passion for shaping a better world and will help to develop and deliver our carbon and climate change services bringing technical expertise delivering consultancy services.

The role sits within our North, Northwest Yorkshire geography but flexibility for other UK offices may be considered for the right candidate as the role will require significant cross-regional working.

Key accountabilities will include:
  1. Undertaking carbon assessments and providing advice on decarbonisation;
  2. Whole life carbon assessment for a range of infrastructure and energy projects;
  3. Undertaking technical reviews of others’ carbon modelling;
  4. Bringing knowledge to reinforce advice on carbon management to external and internal clients;
  5. Upholding the team in business development activities such as preparation of expressions of interest and proposals, networking and client engagement activities;
  6. Developing and conveying your knowledge in carbon and climate change in the development of our services and the skills of others.

Is this role right for you?

We are looking for people with the following skills:
  • Bachelor or master’s qualification in a relevant field, such as Carbon and/or Climate Change Management, Civil / Mechanical / Electrical / Environmental Engineering, Geography, Environmental Science (with appropriate and relevant knowledge).
  • Appropriate chartership or working towards – e.g. Chartered Environmentalist (CEnv, CEng) Desirable
  • Knowledge in carbon assessment and modelling including development of mitigation strategies.
  • Appreciation of UK and/or devolved administration policy and regulatory framework for carbon and climate.
