Job summary

Morgan Hunt UK Limited is seeking a Capital Projects Manager for NHS projects based in Surrey and Berkshire. The contract role involves managing feasibility, design and construction across the trust estate, with duties spanning from initial feasibility to on-site construction and budget control.

The role requires a strong background in architecture, surveying or engineering, with excellent project management and procurement experience.

Qualifications

• Qualification in Architecture, Surveying or Engineering or related discipline.
• Knowledge of current construction regulations and legislation.

Responsibilities

• Lead feasibility design studies for major/minor capital schemes and prepare budget costs.
• Manage development of the project brief with end users and secure sign-off.
• Develop detailed design drawings with the design team.
• Determine suitable procurement routes in line with Trust Standing Orders and SFIs.
• Operate the scheme contract using the ProCure22 contract template and proformas.
• Instruct and manage external consultants and contractors with formal briefings.
• Produce specifications and tender documentation for smaller schemes and manage tenders.
• Project manage construction of capital developments on/off site.
• Monitor and control the quality of workmanship on site.
• Monitor allocated budgets for individual schemes and report progress.
• Maintain communications with internal and external stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
• Liaise with Estates & Facilities colleagues on capital schemes as required.
• Maintain electronic project files and up-to-date CAD drawings (as-built/as-installed).
• Provide professional and technical advice to hospital stakeholders when required.
• Support the Associate Director of Capital in delivering the capital programme.
