An exciting opportunity exists for a Senior Project Manager within the Urology Department at UCLH and the Royal Free London. This fixed-term role focuses on enhancing patient pathways for urological cancer care in one of the largest multidisciplinary settings in the UK.
Job summary
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced and enthusiastic project manager to join the Urology Department at UCLH and the Royal Free London for a fixed term funded post up to 31st March 2026. It is expected that the postholder will be based 2 days a week at UCLH, 2 days a week at Royal Free with the remaining day flexible at either site or WFH.You will be joining two of the largest urology departments in the UK providing a range of highly complex urology service across multiple sub-specialities. You will be responsible for delivering on a range of complex projects focussed on improving efficiency in urological cancer patient pathways, including renal, prostrate, bladder, penile and testicular cancer.This post is funded by the North Central London Cancer Alliance (NCLCA) and is hosted by University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. NCLCA work to promote early diagnosis, optimise pathways, reduce variation, provide personalised support for patients and build service resilience. As part of its programme of support for and transformation in cancer services, NCLCA supports embedded posts in each multi-specialty trust in NCL.
Main duties of the jobThe Urology Senior Project Manager role is an exciting position for an individual who brings excellent stakeholder engagement skills and service improvement skills as well as a sound understanding of the NHS and cancer, and of the issues affecting patients with cancer.
We are seeking someone with enthusiasm and skills in developing and supporting others which make you a compassionate and empowering team member. You will bring dynamism, positivity, and a collaborative attitude to UCLH and RFL.
The post holders will work closely with the General Managers and senior leadership team across UCLH and RFL to deliver a programme of change across Urology at both sites.
The main duties of the Senior Project Manager are:o Clinical engagement - To establish effective working relationships with, among others, consultants and clinical nurse specialists, and to promote collaboration across professional and departmental boundaries,o Change management - To facilitate the development of improved patient pathways, through the application of best practice and service improvement methods,o Project management and delivery - To develop and implement projects with clinical and operational teams,o Communications - To actively engage, inform and influence key stakeholders.
