Job summary

Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an experienced Child and Adolescent Psychotherapist to join the CAMHS as Professional Lead in West Sussex. The role blends clinical practice with leadership, guiding psychological services and ensuring high-quality care for young people and families.

You will oversee supervision, promote evidence-based psychotherapy, and drive service development across Sussex CAMHS, while ensuring equity, inclusivity, and professional standards are met.

Qualifications

• Postgraduate qualification at Master’s level in psychotherapy with professional accreditation.
• Professional registration as a psychotherapist/psychological therapist.
• Evidence of ongoing CPD.
• Significant post-qualification experience with complex cases.
• Experience across clinical settings (community, outpatient, inpatient).
• Experience with diverse client groups in inclusive practice.
• Specialist knowledge in at least one evidence-based therapy.
• Experience providing clinical supervision or training.
• Knowledge of national mental health policy and guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical supervision and professional leadership for Psychological Professions.
• Lead across the service with cross-team collaboration.
• Ensure NICE guideline-based practice and service standards.
• Promote innovation and development in psychotherapy practice.
• Support managers with supervision and professional issues.
• Deliver specialist advice for young people with complex needs.
• Co-Chair the Psychodynamic Network with an Adult Psychotherapist.
• Represent professional lead role within CAMHS and Sussex-wide settings.
