Job summary

South West London and St George's Mental Health NHS Trust is seeking a Band 8A Senior Clinical Nurse Specialist to lead self-harm and risk case management within Sutton CAMHS. The role focuses on assessment, formulation and intervention for children and young people with self-harm and complex risk.

The post requires CAMHS experience, NMC registration, and DBT-informed practice. It is a 30-hour per week fixed-term position with clinical leadership duties and supervision responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Current NMC registration as a Registered Mental Health Nurse.
• Significant CAMHS experience.
• Extensive experience working with self-harm, suicidality and complex risk.
• Strong risk assessment, formulation and care planning skills.
• Experience of clinical leadership and supervision.
• DBT training or experience delivering DBT-informed interventions.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialist assessment, formulation and intervention for children and young people presenting with self-harm, suicidal ideation, emotional dysregulation and complex risk.
• Offer consultation and clinical leadership across the CAMHS service.
• Support safeguarding and risk management processes.
• Provide supervision to colleagues and contribute to service development.
