MWH Treatment is looking to appoint an experienced Senior CAD Technician (Civil) to join our growing Engineering team. Based at a suitable location within our Northern Region, with flexible working available, this is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in delivering some of the UK's most important water and wastewater infrastructure projects.
As a senior member of the design team, you will take ownership of the coordination, management and quality of drawing production across multidisciplinary engineering projects. Working alongside Civil, Mechanical, Electrical and Process Engineers, you’ll ensure design outputs are delivered efficiently, accurately and in line with the highest technical standards.
This role is ideal for a technically strong CAD professional who enjoys taking the lead, driving best practice, mentoring others and helping to develop digital engineering capabilities within a collaborative and forward-thinking business.
Reporting to the Regional Discipline Lead, you will be responsible for coordinating drawing production, managing workloads and ensuring that all design outputs support safe, buildable and cost-effective project delivery.
You will act as a key link between engineering disciplines, offshore design resources and project delivery teams, helping to maintain quality, consistency and efficiency throughout the design lifecycle.
You will be an experienced CAD professional with a strong civil engineering background and a passion for delivering high-quality design solutions within a multidisciplinary environment.
EssentialSignificant experience working within a multidisciplinary engineering environment.
Strong Civil Engineering CAD background with experience on infrastructure, utilities, water or related projects.
Advanced 2D drafting skills and practical experience using industry-standard CAD software.
Strong 3D modelling experience and understanding of model-based design principles.
Proven experience using Autodesk Revit and associated 3D design applications.
Experience working with Bentley ProjectWise or similar document management platforms.
Broad experience using common engineering software and digital delivery tools.
Good understanding of BIM processes, 3D modelling standards and quality assurance procedures.
Strong understanding of how civil infrastructure and structures are assembled and constructed.
Ability to coordinate information across multiple disciplines and stakeholders.
Excellent attention to detail and commitment to delivering quality outputs.
Strong communication and organisational skills.
Self-motivated, proactive and solutions-focused approach.
DesirableExperience within the UK water and wastewater sector.
Knowledge of BIM Level 2 standards and digital engineering best practice.
Experience coordinating offshore or remote design resources.
Previous mentoring or supervisory experience.
Understanding of construction methodologies and buildability considerations.
Experience working on large-scale infrastructure projects.
