Senior CAD Technician

Senior CAD Technician / Design Engineer - required to work in Leeds. Our client is a large Civil Engineering Sub Contractor who specialise within RC Frames, Underground Structures, Geotechnical Engineering and Tunnelling with a £114 Million turnover. The Senior CAD Technician / Design Engineer will be working on an exciting range of projects within the industry.

The Senior CAD Technician / Design Engineer will be involved in the initial concept, design, development, and management of projects. The role requires strong technical knowledge, problem solving, communication, and project management skills.

Senior CAD Technician / Design Engineer Position Remuneration

• Salary: £35k - £55k
• 23 days holiday plus 8 days Bank Holidays
• Discretionary company bonus
• Life insurance 4 x salary
• Pension 5% company / 4% employee

Senior CAD Technician / Design Engineer Position Overview

• Investigate and analyse how to improve existing projects or components
• Summarise scientific and engineering principles in an understandable manner
• Write technical reports to summarise findings
• Develop concepts, specifications, tenders, and development of new projects or components
• Develop design and define technical specifications for temporary and permanent works
• Identify and execute specific project BIM requirements
• Undertake design drafting using Autodesk CAD3D, 2D, and Civils 3D to produce high-quality drawings and 3D visualisations
• Identify new systems and processes to improve quality, efficiency, and cost savings
• Liaise with project stakeholders, including clients, colleagues, contractors, and suppliers, to understand requirements
• Plan effectively to ensure projects are delivered on time, within standard, and budget

Senior CAD Technician / Design Engineer Position Requirements

• 5+ years' experience within structures, temporary works, or Geotechnical engineering
• 3 years' experience at a Senior level
• High level of technical skill
• Ability to support, mentor, and develop junior team members
• Knowledge of CDM H&S regulations
• Strong analytical and numeracy skills
• Project management skills
• Creative problem-solving abilities
• Proficiency in Autodesk CAD3D, 2D, and Civils 3D
• Excellent written English and grammar skills
