Senior CAD Technician

Outstanding opportunity for a senior technician with an architectural or engineering background to join a leading design and build practice within the commercial sector.

Out client needs a Senior Architectural or CAD Technician who has experience delivering both design and technical packages across commercial sectors. Our client is an industry leader in the delivery of bespoke metalworks, ceiling system and Fa ade packages across projects both nationally and internationally.

You will take projects from the handover of conceptual scheme right through to completion, and will develop technical proposals, creating 2D and 3D CAD layouts, supporting product development, while ensuring full compliance with design and industry standards.

Our clients are seeking candidates from various background experiences either within Architectural, Interior fit - out or structural detailing. With experience dealing with either Fa ade & envelope packages or bespoke ceilings & metalworks

Key responsibilities:

• creating detailed 2D and 3D CAD drawings for bespoke ceiling systems and architectural metalwork, working closely with sales and design teams to translate project requirements into precise technical proposals.
• lead meetings with architects, contractors, and other stakeholders to present design solutions and offer expert technical advice throughout the project lifecycle.
• ensure compliance with architectural specifications, construction standards, and client expectations is key, alongside supporting product certification processes and maintaining accurate technical documentation.
• play a vital role in developing marketing materials such as technical brochures, NBS specifications, and sales literature.
• occasional site visits to assess and refine solutions, contributing directly to product innovation and the development of new system designs.

At about you:

• Relevant degree qualification - Architecture, Design Engineering, Product Design, or Construction Technology.
• Minimum 5 years + demonstrable post qualification UK experience
• Experienced interpreting both Architectural and Structural drawings
• Job running experience - managing projects from design to completion
• Proficiency with 2D AutoCAD (essential)
• Proficiency in other software such as Revit and Sketchup (desirable)
• Strong communication skills to liaise with clients and contractors
• Thorough understanding of UK building regulations and construction methods
• Full UK driving license
