Job description

Westlakes Recruit are currently recruiting for a Senior CAD Designer - Electrical with a background in Nuclear or other highly regulated sector on a staff basis, to be working hybrid but willing to attend sites/offices in Barrow.

What you'll be doing:

• 
  Direct involvement with the design of our World Class Submarines, joining the team responsible for producing 3D models of Electrical Systems and Equipment Integration
• 
  Using the CAD toolset to produce 3D models of electrical routed systems and electrical equipment integration e.g. switchboards and power units etc.
• 
  Mature and develop 2D electrical schematics / system diagrams
• 
  Producing outputs (including 2D drawings and electronic data) to support manufacturing, installation and testing of our products
• 
  Developing and maintaining close working relationships with other design teams and stakeholders
• 
  Working as a team to produce an integrated design that meets the customer's expectations and agreed set of requirements
• 
  Working with a mentor to develop your skills with tailored training and learning opportunities

Your skills and experiences:

• 
  Relevant apprenticeship, engineering qualification or previous experience as an Electrical Designer / Draughtsperson e.g. HNC, ONC or degree qualification in relevant STEM subject or equivalent work experience
• 
  Experience in electrical compartment integration and Engineering Standards at component and sub-component / assembly level
• 
  Knowledge and understanding of electrical routed systems at both 2D and 3D level
• 
  Understanding of CAD toolsets and techniques
