The role

Working in the Electrical Designer discipline, this role involves 3D modelling (design and integration) of electrical systems and compartment integration of electrical equipment. The role also includes constructing a Bill of Materials (BoM) for your area of design in the submarine. As a Designer, you will report to a Project Leader and work within a team of Designers with varying experience.

• Using CAD tools to produce 3D models of electrical routed systems and equipment integration (e.g., switchboards, power units).
• Developing 2D electrical schematics and system diagrams.
• Producing outputs (2D drawings and electronic data) to support manufacturing, installation, and testing schedules.
• Collaborating with the team to produce an integrated design meeting customer expectations and requirements.

Key Skills required

• Relevant apprenticeship, engineering qualification, or experience as an Electrical Designer/Draughtsperson (e.g., HNC, ONC, degree in STEM or equivalent work experience).
• Knowledge of electrical routed systems in 2D and 3D.
• Technical drawing skills, including setting out drawing sets for manufacturing and installation details.
• Experience with PLM tools such as Teamcenter, Database Manager, Windchill, etc.
