SP Energy Networks is seeking an experienced Senior Cable Design Engineer to join our Transmission Engineering team in a hybrid role at Cambuslang. You will lead the technical delivery of complex cable schemes, developing designs from feasibility through detailed design, ensuring safety, compliance and value for money.
You will mentor engineers, collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders, and drive innovation to support the UK’s net‑zero transmission objectives.

SP Energy Networks is seeking an experienced Senior Cable Design Engineer to join our Transmission Engineering team. This is a senior technical role responsible for developing and delivering engineering solutions for transmission cable projects from feasibility through to detailed design.
You will lead the technical delivery of complex and high-value cable projects, providing specialist engineering expertise across the project lifecycle. Working closely with internal teams, contractors, suppliers, and stakeholders, you will ensure designs are safe, compliant, innovative, and aligned with business objectives.
This role provides an excellent opportunity to contribute to critical transmission infrastructure projects supporting the UK's transition to a Net Zero future while providing technical leadership and mentoring to developing engineers within the team.
