Job summary

The candidate will design, query and optimise SQL Server databases, write stored procedures and develop RESTful APIs, while deploying and managing services in AWS (EC2, RDS, S3, Lambda). Agile practices and secure coding are essential.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with C# and .NET technologies.
• Proficient in designing RESTful APIs and services.
• Strong SQL Server database design and optimisation skills.
• Ability to write efficient stored procedures, views and queries.
• Experience deploying and managing services in AWS.
• Knowledge of Agile methodologies and modern SDLC.

Responsibilities

• Design and build robust server-side applications using .NET and C#.
• Implement business-critical logic that performs heavy lifting at scale.
• Design, query and optimise SQL Server databases.
• Write efficient stored procedures, views and complex queries.
• Develop and maintain RESTful APIs.
• Ensure applications are performant, secure and resilient.
• Deploy and manage services within AWS environments.
• Work with AWS services such as EC2, RDS, S3 and Lambda.
• Implement authentication and authorisation mechanisms.
• Follow cloud security best practices.
• Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks across application and database layers.
• Write unit and integration tests.
• Participate in code reviews and architectural discussions.
• Be comfortable with CI/CD pipelines and automated deployments.
• Use version control systems e.g. Git.
• Have a strong understanding of Agile methodologies.
• Monitor logging, diagnostics and system health in production.
• Maintain a robust back-end engineering approach.
