Job summary

McGregor Boyall is partnering with a global multi-strategy hedge fund to hire a Manager, Market Data Engineering within the Data Technology team. The role owns systems that capture, derive and serve real-time and historical market data to investment teams across Equities, Macro, Commodities and Credit.

It's a build-and-lead role with London, Chicago or New York as locations, offering a USD 225,000 to 275,000 base, plus bonus and benefits.

Qualifications

• 8+ years leading engineering teams.
• 5+ years hands-on with market data systems.
• Experience running agile delivery for real projects across multiple asset classes.
• Track record of production systems that stay up.

Responsibilities

• Architect the firm's next-generation market data platform ingesting streaming and historical data.
• Build real-time processing and derivation engines (bars, NBBO) that are fast, resilient and recoverable.
• Develop low latency C++ solutions.
• Ship SDKs and platform interfaces for derived-data calculations by specialist teams.
• Hire and mentor a team of developers and analysts.
• Own the platform roadmap with investment teams and translate needs into production systems.
