Softweb Resourcing Limited is seeking a Senior C++ Software Engineer to join the Linux team, taking ownership of key development areas and mentoring peers. You will design and deliver complex C++ applications for Linux, focusing on performance and robust software design.

The role offers hybrid working with a few days in Manchester, and a strong compensation package (£50k–£75k) with benefits such as a generous pension.

Qualifications

• Strong commercial modern C++ development experience.
• Advanced knowledge of multithreading, concurrency and memory management.
• Experience Linux development.
• Strong debugging, Git and software design skills.
• Understanding of file systems, networking and security.
• Desirable: Linux internals, storage systems, React, CI/CD or embedded experience.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop complex C++ applications for Linux platforms.
• Own technical design and end-to-end feature delivery.
• Mentor junior developers.
• Tackle low-level OS, memory management and multithreading challenges.
• Drive performance optimization and engineering best practices.
