Job summary

Nebius is seeking mid and senior software developers with a strong C++ background to work on the YDB project, an open-source storage and database system. You will influence design choices, optimize performance for AI workloads, and contribute to a distributed storage and database stack powering Nebius cloud operations.

The role involves implementing high-performance components, debugging and profiling, and collaborating with international teams in a fast-moving, ownership-driven environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in C/C++ programming for highly loaded systems.
• Understanding of core dumps, flamegraphs, and sanitized builds.
• Experience developing high-performance, low-latency components.
• Knowledge of storage device internals (NVMe, HDD).
• Familiarity with Linux kernel, SPDK/DPDK, libaio, io_uring.
• Experience with Kubernetes and Grafana.
• Track record of incident resolution and distributed storage design.

Responsibilities

• Adapt YDB to leverage modern hardware to its fullest potential.
• Reengineer YDB components with more efficient algorithms to solve complex system challenges.
• Contribute to production-grade distributed storage components and ensure high availability.
