In this role, you will be part of a dynamic team of professionals driving the evolution of Barclays' low-latency trading system, collaborating with business representatives, quants, and fellow developers.

This role is based out of our London office.

Purpose of the role

To design, develop, and improve software, utilizing various engineering methodologies, that provides business, platform, and technology capabilities for our customers and colleagues.

Accountabilities

1. Development and delivery of high-quality software solutions using industry-aligned programming languages, frameworks, and tools, ensuring code is scalable, maintainable, and optimized for performance.
2. Cross-functional collaboration with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define software requirements, devise solution strategies, and ensure seamless integration with business objectives.
3. Participate in code reviews and promote a culture of code quality and knowledge sharing.
4. Stay informed of industry technology trends and actively contribute to the organization’s technology communities.
5. Adhere to secure coding practices to mitigate vulnerabilities and protect sensitive data.
6. Implement effective unit testing practices to ensure code readability and reliability.
