Job summary

Zopa is hiring Software Engineers to help build and maintain distributed backend services. You’ll work in a hybrid Manchester-based role leveraging Kotlin, with exposure to C#-existing skills and opportunities to learn Java/Kotlin in a modern stack including Kafka, Kubernetes, Docker and AWS Aurora Postgres.

Qualifications

• Hands-on coding experience in C# and willingness to learn Java/Kotlin.
• Experience with modern cloud-native architectures and CI/CD.
• Strong collaboration across product, design and engineering teams.

Responsibilities

• Write clean, reliable backend code in Kotlin and compatible languages.
• Develop scalable cloud-based services in an Agile, product-focused team.
• Collaborate with engineers, PMs and designers to ship features.
• Participate in planning, code reviews and technical discussions.
• Build well-tested services and contribute to continuous delivery.
• Take ownership from development to production and learn continuously.
