Job summary

CPS Group (UK) Limited is seeking a Senior Buyer - IT Procurement for a 12-month FTC in Cardiff. The role focuses on end-to-end IT procurement management, including tenders, supplier evaluations and contract negotiations, aligning with technology and business strategy.

You will own commercial strategies, drive value, mitigate risk and support transformational technology programmes while collaborating with senior stakeholders. The role is hybrid, with 8 on-site days per month in Cardiff.

• Strong track record negotiating IT contracts and managing commercial outcomes.

Senior Buyer - IT Procurement - 12-Month FTC

Location: Central Cardiff - Hybrid – 8 days per month on site

Salary: Up to £55,000 + benefits

We’re working with a leading Cardiff based Financial Services organisation to recruit a Senior IT Procurement professional on a 12-month fixed-term basis. This is a key role within the procurement function, supporting technology sourcing, commercial strategy and transformational programmes across the business.

You’ll take ownership of end-to-end IT procurement activity, working closely with technology, business, risk and senior leadership stakeholders to deliver commercially strong and sustainable outcomes.

The Role

• Leading end-to-end IT procurement and sourcing, including tenders, supplier evaluation and contract negotiation.
• Developing commercial strategies that deliver value, mitigate risk and support business objectives.
• Managing procurement workstreams across complex and business-critical technology projects.
• Drafting and implementing IT contracts and securing strong, sustainable commercial outcomes.
• Building effective relationships with technology, business, risk and senior leadership stakeholders.
• Identifying opportunities to improve procurement processes and internal service delivery.

About You

• Experience within similar IT Buyer / IT Procurement role at a Senior level.
• Strong experience leading complex, high-value or business-critical IT procurement projects.
• Demonstrable contract negotiation and commercial management experience.
• Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills.
• Experience supporting digital transformation or strategic technology programmes is desirable.
• Financial Services or other regulated-sector experience is advantageous, but not essential.
