About Our Client

Our client, a multinational company in the battery and energy storage industry, is seeking a Senior Buyer for Raw Materials strategy for Battery and Energy Storage.

Job Description

As a Senior Buyer, you will define and lead the Raw Materials strategy for Battery and Energy Storage, covering the entire value chain from mining to battery or storage packs. Responsibilities include establishing contracts and partnerships aligned with the strategy globally, supporting the Battery and Energy Storage leader, and collaborating with Business Development, technical, and finance teams. Your key duties will include:

  • Defining strategies for raw materials (Nickel, Cobalt, Manganese, Graphite, Hydrogen, etc.) and managing the value chain with relevant stakeholders.
  • Managing reporting requirements to ensure compliance with regulations and stakeholder expectations.
  • Implementing KPIs to monitor and report progress.
  • Communicating performance data organization-wide and to stakeholders.
  • Ensuring supplier standards, policies, and compliance processes meet regulatory and stakeholder requirements, including M&A activities.
  • Representing the company at international working groups, congresses, and seminars.
The Successful Applicant
  • Academic Background: Master's degree (or equivalent) in Engineering, Business Management, or Finance.
  • Raw Materials Expertise: Strong understanding of the entire raw materials value chain for energy storage, batteries, and hydrogen.
  • Standards Knowledge: Fluent in industry standards and best practices; able to discuss technical and financial topics confidently.
  • Experience: At least 10 years in the field, with a broad network; experience in mining, refining, trading, or banking sectors is advantageous.
  • Data & Reporting Skills: Ability to analyze reports, evaluate data critically, and produce clear reports.

Fluent English is essential.

You are a self-motivated, proactive, and energetic professional with excellent communication skills. You can effectively synthesize complex data into clear insights, present confidently to diverse audiences, and create engaging presentations using tools like PowerPoint.
