Job summary

Aldwych Consulting in Walsall is seeking an experienced Senior Buyer to lead procurement for civil engineering and infrastructure projects. You will own sourcing, supplier relationships and negotiations across water, transport, energy and the built environment, driving value and cost control.

This role focuses on delivering strategic procurement, managing supplier performance, and supporting bids and tenders with robust cost analysis and reporting.

Qualifications

• Experience in purchasing or procurement within civil engineering or construction.
• Strong negotiation skills and commercial awareness.
• Experience managing supplier relationships and controlling costs.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Water sector experience and CIPS qualifications would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

Location: Walsall, West Midlands
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience

We\'re looking for an experienced Senior Buyer to join a leading civil engineering and infrastructure business, supporting major projects across water, transport, energy and the built environment.

This is a great opportunity for a commercially minded procurement professional to take ownership of sourcing, supplier relationships and negotiations within a busy infrastructure environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the strategic and operational procurement of construction materials and services.
• Negotiate supplier contracts, pricing and terms to drive cost savings.
