Job description

About the role

Senior Buyer

As we enter AMP8, our most ambitious Asset Management Period, we are preparing to undertake our largest project yet. This is a unique opportunity to drive industry change, set global standards, and foster career growth.

We are seeking an experienced Senior Buyer to play a pivotal role in implementing procurement strategies, negotiating high-value transactions, and collaborating with both framework and non-framework partners. In this role, you will be fully integrated into project teams, ensuring key deliverables are met while leading early contractor involvement (ECI) engagements with strategic partners.

As a Senior Buyer, you will be at the forefront of procurement excellence, ensuring best practices and strategic sourcing across major projects.

What you'll be doing

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Aggregating demand across Water Recycling and Water programmes, ensuring all procurement requirements are met.
  • Implementing ethical and effective supply chain selection to drive value and innovation.
  • Supporting on-time project delivery and proactively mitigating potential risks.
  • Embedding Health & Safety protocols throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Driving supplier performance by issuing scorecards and providing constructive feedback.
  • Ensuring all contractual and programme deliverables are met within agreed timelines.
  • Identifying and implementing value-driven efficiencies within the supply chain.
  • Building strong stakeholder relationships, providing strategic insights, reports, and fostering knowledge sharing.

Who we're looking for

What we are looking for:

  • Proven experience in a senior procurement, sourcing, or supply chain role.
  • Strong track record in stakeholder management, engaging effectively with diverse teams and senior leadership.
  • A skilled negotiator, capable of challenging and influencing decisions with transparency and integrity.
  • Results-driven, with a keen focus on supplier performance and continuous improvement.

If you're ready to take the next step in your procurement career and make a real impact within a high-profile alliance, apply today!
