JOB DESCRIPTION

Senior Buyer

We are currently seeking a Senior Buyer, reporting directly to the Procurement Manager, to join our Procurement team based in either London or Milton Keynes, England, UK.

About the mission we offer you:

The Senior Buyer will manage the complete purchasing cycle of allocated Material Requisitions, ensuring execution within budget, on schedule, and meeting quality standards.

In this role, you will collaborate closely with internal teams including the Section Head, Project Procurement Manager, Engineering, Project Manager, Legal, Finance, VPM, Transport, and Logistics, while maintaining effective communication and relationships with external suppliers.

Main Accountabilities:

  1. Bidder Lists preparation for allocated MRs ensuring compliance with both Corporate and Client Vendor lists
  2. Suppliers qualification before PO placement, when needed
  3. Set up and manage enquiries and purchase orders using Company IT Tools/ERP.
  4. Carry out commercial and contractual negotiations up to supplier selection.
  5. Ensuring a close collaboration with Engineering to finalize technical and commercial clarifications according to the projects schedule.
  6. Compiling and issuing purchase order, ensuring acceptance without comments
  7. Managing all changes of scope during the purchase order execution, including issue amendments.
  8. Recovering applicable liquidated damages and back charges notified to the vendors.
  9. Managing close out of purchase orders and feedback on vendor performance.
  10. Contributing to strategy definition with the Section Heads and the Project Procurement Manager
  11. Executing all the activities in compliance with Project purchasing principles, needs and strategy

About you:

We would love to hear from you and how you match this position. To be successful in this mission you should consider the following requirements:

  1. Master's degree in engineering and/or a specialization in procurement. MCIPS qualified (preferably).
  2. Extensive previous experience as a Buyer in a similar industrial business and on EPC projects
  3. Proven experience in a similar role within procurement, purchasing and supply chain management.
  4. Very good knowledge of UK local manufacturers
  5. Highly motivated, driven and pro-active who can interpret and constantly seeks to achieve project schedules
  6. Strong negotiation skills to secure the best terms while maintaining supplier relationships
  7. Organizational abilities, curiosity, problem solver, target-orientated, rigorous, and respectful to deadlines.
  8. A strong understanding of procurement principles and project procurement strategies.
  9. Excellent communication and ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders, local UK vendors and to support buyers within the team.
  10. High levels of autonomy and decision-making capability on medium criticality/value requisitions are also required.
  11. Willingness to work at site and travel, when required
  12. Actively promotes good business ethics
  13. Demonstrates a strong commitment to safety
  14. Good IT skills in MS packages and experience in Procurement system such as Oracle, etc...
  15. English speaker, a second language (i.e. French) is highly appreciated
