Job description

Leading Fashion retailer are seeking a Senior Dress Buyer and a Ladieswear Buyer to join their successful business.

Competitive salary plus a relocation package available for both roles.

As a Senior Buyer / Buyer you will be responsible for developing, sourcing and delivering an on-trend and commercially focused range, whilst driving profit and enhancing the brand position. You will support the Buying Director and Head of Buying in the development and delivery of the Buying Strategy whilst maintaining strong, professional relationships with existing suppliers to ensure consistent quality and service whilst negotiating new supplier agreements to achieve profitable pricing and delivery terms.

Your key responsibilities will be:

• Planning and building a commercially balanced range, whilst achieving margin targets as set by company.
• Drive regular product reviews, ensuring coordination across departments in terms of trends, looks and colour palettes.
• Deep understanding of fabrics, garment constructions and the whole buying process with a strong print eye.
• Operate an effective and timely product sign-off process, in line with the critical path and planning cycle.
• Lead ladieswear in driving trend-led collections with the right level of newness/fashion/trend.
• Take responsibility for maximizing profit on the department through strong negotiation and development of global supplier relations.
• Trade the department and analyze relevance of new and emerging trends for the brand and plan accordingly.
• Work collaboratively with the merchandising team to monitor and control trade, in order to ensure stock turn, margin targets and profit levels are achieved.

Candidate skills and experience

• Working as a Buyer level in a ladieswear fashion retailer.
• Dress buying experience is desirable.
• Proven track record of developing and trading highly commercial fashion ranges that exceed sales/profit targets.
• Deep understanding of fabrics, garment construction and the whole buying process with a strong print eye.
• A passion for trends who excels in delivering trend inspiring fashion to the high street.
• Experienced in negotiating with suppliers for a competitive cost and lead times.
