Senior Buyer

Pure Resourcing Solutions is supporting a privately owned manufacturing company based in Basildon, seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Buyer to join their team.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Forecast levels of demand for services and products.
2. Conduct research to source the best products and suppliers regarding value, delivery schedules, and quality.
3. Forecast price trends and their impact on future activities.
4. Gather, analyze, interpret, and act upon market intelligence.
5. Purchase materials in line with requirements, shortfalls, and MRP.
6. Manage inventory effectively.
7. Handle the shortfall list and place orders as required for key suppliers.
8. Provide cover for the Procurement Manager when needed.
9. Maintain ongoing supplier relationships and performance management to de-risk the supply chain.
10. Implement procurement strategies aligned with organizational goals and business plans.
11. Assist in managing daily procurement operations to meet key metrics.
12. Negotiate and agree on contracts, monitor service quality, and ensure legal terms are met.
13. Maintain supplier relationships, aligning with strategic goals to ensure outstanding service and quality.
14. Attend supplier meetings and trade conferences domestically and internationally.

Requirements:

1. Proven experience as a Senior Buyer.
2. Deep knowledge of inventory and supply chain management.
3. Level 4 CIPS qualification.
4. Experience managing Far East suppliers.
5. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
6. Experience negotiating with third parties and understanding contract law.
7. Up-to-date understanding of external supply markets.
