What you’ll be doing

• Evaluating technical / complex buy-to-let (BTL) cases from brokers and customers directly.
• Review and interpret Legal / Technical / Regulatory and other documents providing guidance how they apply to BTL, Paragon and its customers in particular.
• Consider, review and shape applications for presentation to the Bank’s Credit Committee where the aggregate exposure is in excess of £10m.
• Provide underwriting support for larger and / or more technical BTL loan applications.
• Prepare papers for consideration and approval by appropriate bodies in respect of Credit Policy.

About You

What you’ll bring to the team

• A minimum of 10 years BTL / Residential underwriting experience, using your own mandate to approve loans up to a maximum of £8m.
• Commercial banking experience, preferably within a property-based lending environment.
• Demonstrable experience of contract / documentation preparation / negotiation.
• Foundation accounting qualification or relevant learned experience.
• An inquisitive mind combined with a preparedness to turn your hand to any scenario presented.

Working hours

37.5 hours per week, typically 8.30am to 5pm with flexibility to work outside of these hours.
