Qualifications

Senior Business Travel Consultant

Destination Sport Travel
This is a hybrid role based in our Manchester, UK office with some flexibility for homeworking, so you must live within a commutable distance.

As part of the Destination Sport Group - https://destinationsport.com/ - Destination Sport Travel provides business travel services to a number of major sporting clubs & federations. Our bespoke business travel service has been designed and created to meet the specific requirements of sporting organisations, from scouts & individual player movements, through to commercial departments, directors and CEOs travel, both domestically & overseas. We are proud to be the Official Travel Partner/Supplier to several professional Sports Clubs, providing a range of services including the day-to-day travel of teams at all levels within the organisation (First Team, Youth, Women’s etc), plus Club Management, Directors and Sponsors.

This is a really exciting team of growth across the business, and as a Senior Business Travel Consultant you will work alongside our highly skilled team to process booking requests, amendments, cancellations and respond to any customer communication in accordance with ISO and company standards.

No two days are the same in our Sports team, but on a typical day you will

  1. Process reservations, amendments and cancellations as requested by the client in a timely and accurate manner and in accordance with the company standards and those laid out in the entire ISO procedures manuals.

  2. Take ownership of complex customer enquiries received in writing or over the telephone.

  3. Offer a variety of flight options, explaining fare rules when booking flights.

  4. Convert general enquiries into actual bookings utilising all the tools and technology available.

  5. Monitor queues and ensure all communication both written and verbal is professional, accurate and conducted in a timely manner.

  6. Offer advice regarding destinations, best/most cost-effective carriers etc.

  7. Take ownership and responsibility for all client queries handled until successfully concluded.

  8. Support any commercial agreements which are in place.

  9. Ensure the highest level of customer service is offered to internal and external customers at all times.

  10. Log and deal with customer complaints and reduce future issues, escalating where necessary.

  11. Accurately process data and issue invoices to ensure compliance with ISO standards.

  12. Maintain and develop relationships with key clients.

  13. Utilise account management skills in order to retain and grow business.

  14. Ensure that full support is given to the key preferred suppliers.

  15. Achieve own sales target and lead by example at all times.

To be successful in this role, our ideal candidate will:

  1. Have extensive experience working as a Business Travel Consultant (within the sport travel area of the industry would be highly desired).

  2. Have experience booking flights, and coordinating bookings.

  3. Be proficient in using travel booking systems, including use of a GDS (Galileo preferred).

  4. Experience dealing with high volumes of email and call requests, processing complex travel bookings.

  5. Have excellent Worldwide travel knowledge.

  6. Be computer literate with experience of Microsoft Office.

  7. Have excellent customer service skills.

  8. Have the ability to work within a team environment to achieve team/department objectives.

  9. Have exceptional communication skills both verbal and written.

  10. Be well organized and quick to prioritise workload.

  11. Have the ability to think logically and consider all relevant aspects with strong analytical skills.

  12. Be flexible with the ability to prioritise tasks in line with business objectives.

  13. Have the ability to work under pressure and work to tight deadlines.
