Job Description:

Our valued healthcare client is seeking a Senior Business Systems Analyst to support the requirements gathering and implementation of data management tools & platforms!

Initial 4-month contract with possibility of extension. 7.25 hours per day, Monday to Friday. % Remote in EST timezone -- Candidates with the ability to occasionally work on-site in Ottawa or North York, ON will be prioritized.

As the successful candidate, you will be responsible for supporting the goal of achieving a seamless and secure data exchange across the Canadian healthcare ecosystem. You will be directly supporting the adoption of several tooling solutions to enable teams to move forward with the interoperability project and related corporate data governance activities. Access to effective tooling will improve productivity, quality and consistency, internal and external collaboration, accessibility, data governance and stewardship, and capacity to equip users with information to adopt and implement the standards produced.

Responsibilities:

  • Consolidate and formally document existing requirements related to the tooling solutions, such as business requirements, technical requirements, and privacy and security requirements. These solutions include:
  • A platform or microsite to host data content standard, common data architecture, and adoption tools
  • A publication and content management solution for the data content standard and common data architecture including ability to share artifacts in various formats (for general documents e.g. PDF, Word, Excel; and data architecture objects e.g. XMI, Erwin; and other formats)
  • A mechanism to seek and compile feedback from external stakeholders on the data standard and data architecture versions published.
  • A mechanism to manage a business glossary.
  • Define future state requirements and perform gap analysis and environmental scans and provide solution recommendations that satisfy the priority capabilities while complying with all relevant corporate policies and standards.
  • Work closely with various internal stakeholders including analysts and architects to gather their input on tooling concepts and solutions.
  • Support the architects on delivering a conceptual architecture based on identified architecturally significant requirements
  • Work with Information Technology Services, procurement and web services teams to ensure chosen system is configured according to requirements.
  • Develop test cases to ensure successful implementation of chosen tooling.
  • Coordinate individuals across departments to manage technical updates and software risk, following up with key stakeholders when necessary and managing inter-technological dependencies.
  • Lead and/or contribute to the development of materials (e.g., technical notes, presentations, reports) for dissemination of findings, paying key attention to language and terminology.

Must-have Skills

  • 5+ years of experience as a Business Systems Analyst overseeing the development of business and/or system requirements, business and process modelling and business process improvement initiatives to support the implementation of new software.
  • Subject matter data expertise in healthcare.
  • Demonstrated experience with Information/Data Architecture and Data Management/Governance approaches and implementation methodologies

Nice-to-have Skills

  • CPHIMS-CA Certification
  • Demonstrated experience working with healthcare standards such as HL7, FHIR, IMOP, USCDI, AUCDI
  • Familiarity with key health care terminologies and classifications (such as, SNOMED-CT, LOINC, ICD-10-CA/CCI, etc)
  • Knowledge of Informatica reference data management
  • Excellent communication skills in both English and French
