Job description

Location: Rosehill High School Wallyford Learning Campus, EH21 8BF

Salary: £23,651 - £25,147 per year pro rata

Contract Type: Permanent

Position Type: Part Time

Hours: 28 hours per week

Vacancy Information

The salary advertised is full time (35 hours per week, 52 weeks per year). Part-time hours / sessional posts will be pro-rated accordingly.

Hourly rate of pay: £12.96 - £13.78
This is a 39-week sessional post i.e. working hours will be during school term time plus in-service days.

Days and Hours of Work:
Monday - Thursday, 08:00-14:30
Friday, 08:00-12:00
To start 11th August 2025.

East Lothian Council seek to appoint a highly skilled, motivated, and experienced Senior Business Support Assistant. Experience of working in a school setting is desirable but not essential, as training will be given.

Good communication and numeracy skills are required along with a commitment to deliver a high quality of customer experience.

The role of a Senior Business Support Administrator in a secondary education setting requires candidates who have an ability to to establish good working relationships and an ability to prioritise tasks in a fast paced and dynamic office environment, you will be expected to work independently and with confidence to deliver a high level of customer experience.

The successful candidate will start on as soon as possible following the recruitment process

Rosehill High School, Wallyford opened in August 2023 and currently has 486 pupils within S1-S4, with a future projected pupil roll of 1000+ in S1-S6.

The secondary facility is designed to support creative approaches to learning, with a range of adaptive teaching spaces. Alongside up to date and digitally enabled classrooms, there is a STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics) plaza, a Learning Resource Centre, extensive facilities to support the arts, and a state of the art sport and leisure complex. Learning and teaching on the campus will go beyond the traditional classroom and encompass outdoor learning and sustainability. The campus also includes a number of community and health spaces to support collaboration between a range of professionals and sectors.

The successful candidate will be based in the main school office reception working closely with the Head Teacher, Business Manager and Business Support Administrator to deliver core administration across the school, and additional partners, as required.

Job Requirements

Relevant Qualifications
Educated to ‘Higher’ level, NC or SVQ level 2 in English and/or able to demonstrate equivalent knowledge, skills and competencies gained through relevant experience.
