Basildon Borough Council is seeking a Senior Business Rates Officer to co-ordinate the Business Rates and Visiting teams, oversee the billing, collection and recovery processes, and ensure work complies with legislation and guidance. The post holder may represent the council in court proceedings for Business Rates.

Qualifications

• Experience in a supervisory Revenues/Benefits environment.
• Understanding of business rates legislation and case law.
• Experience in staff development and performance management.

• Coordinate workloads and monitor officer performance.

• Represent the council in court proceedings for Business Rates.
