About the role

We are recruiting a strategic and collaborative Senior Business Partner to join our team at the John Lewis Partnership, for a 12-month fixed-term contract. You will partner closely with our Director of Distribution, helping to drive cultural transformation within Waitrose Supply Chain across our Bracknell and Aylesford Distribution Centres. In this pivotal role, you'll be instrumental in building high-performing teams, cultivating leadership, enhancing core people management capabilities, and ensuring our Supply Chain is set up for success both now and in the future. This will be achieved through strategic planning, effective coordination, leadership, and stakeholder management.

  • Salary: £70,500 - £110,500
  • Contract type: 12-month secondment/fixed-term contract
  • Working pattern/flexible working: Hybrid approach, working between Partnership locations and home based on personal needs and business requirements
  • Location: Based at Bracknell Head Office and Aylesford Regional Distribution Centre, with regular travel to other Partnership locations
  • Internally known as ‘Senior Talent Partner’
Key responsibilities
  • Creating innovative talent and succession plans, addressing capability gaps, and supporting diversity and inclusion initiatives.
  • Collaborating to define and shape the Partnership Talent Plan based on organizational needs.
  • Working with Talent Acquisition and Learning & Development to develop comprehensive talent strategies including Build, Buy, Borrow, Develop, and Automate plans.
Essential skills/experience
  • Experience in Talent and Performance management within Supply Chain/Distribution/Logistics sectors.
  • Strong knowledge of HR practices and industry-leading talent management strategies.
  • Ability to develop strategic talent plans aligned with organizational goals.
  • Comfortable managing complex projects and multiple priorities.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills.
  • Proficiency in data reporting and analytics.
Desirable skills/experience
  • Qualification in Human Resource Management, Occupational Psychology, or Business.
