Job summary

Babcock is recruiting a Senior Business Improvement Specialist for our Devonport Royal Dockyard, Devonport Transformation Programme. This on-site role drives sustainable performance improvements within a complex engineering environment and supports national security initiatives.

The position is full-time, 35 hours per week, at Devonport, offering opportunities to lead projects, coordinate stakeholders and apply structured methodologies to deliver measurable benefits.

Qualifications

• Degree-level qualification in a relevant subject, or equivalent career-based knowledge and experience.
• Association for Project Management fundamentals qualification or equivalent.
• APMG Change Management Foundation qualification or equivalent.
• Practitioner-level qualifications in business improvement, project management or change management disciplines.
• Working towards specialist practitioner accreditation within a recognised business improvement discipline.

Responsibilities

• Supporting transformation projects by coordinating activities, stakeholders and programme requirements.
• Developing and implementing change management plans that enable successful project delivery.
• Facilitating workshops, presentations and improvement activities to drive engagement and collaboration.
• Identifying opportunities for process improvement and supporting the implementation of practical solutions.
• Applying project management, change management and continuous improvement methodologies to deliver measurable business benefits.

As a Business Improvement Specialist, you’ll contribute to the Devonport Transformation Programme, helping deliver sustainable improvements that enhance performance, efficiency and value across a complex engineering environment. This role is full time, 35 hours per week and is based on site at Devonport Royal Dockyard.

Essential experience of the Business Improvement Specialist

• Demonstrable experience driving business transformation and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Strong understanding of project delivery, change management, business analysis and improvement methodologies.
• Proven ability to analyse complex challenges and deliver practical, value-adding solutions.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication and influencing skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project and Visio.
