Babcock International is seeking a Business Improvement Specialist for the Devonport Royal Dockyard site in Plymouth, Devon. The role supports the Devonport Transformation Programme, delivering sustained improvements to performance, efficiency and value in a complex engineering environment.

You will lead change initiatives, coordinate activities across stakeholders and apply CI methodologies to realise measurable benefits in national security projects. 35 hours/week on site.

The role

As a Business Improvement Specialist, you'll contribute to the Devonport Transformation Programme, helping deliver sustainable improvements that enhance performance, efficiency and value across a complex engineering environment. This is an exciting opportunity to influence large-scale change, solve operational challenges and support the delivery of critical programmes that contribute to national security.

• Supporting transformation projects by coordinating activities, stakeholders and programme requirements.
• Developing and implementing change management plans that enable successful project delivery.
• Facilitating workshops, presentations and improvement activities to drive engagement and collaboration.
• Identifying opportunities for process improvement and supporting the implementation of practical solutions.
• Applying project management, change management and continuous improvement methodologies to deliver measurable business benefits.

This role is full time, 35 hours per week and is based on site at Devonport Royal Dockyard.

Essential experience of the Business Improvement Specialist

• Demonstrable experience driving business transformation and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Strong understanding of project delivery, change management, business analysis and improvement methodologies.
• Proven ability to analyse complex challenges and deliver practical, value-adding solutions.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication and influencing skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project and Visio.

Qualifications for the Business Improvement Specialist

Essential:

• Degree-level qualification in a relevant subject, or equivalent career-based knowledge and experience.
• Association for Project Management fundamentals qualification or equivalent.
• APMG Change Management Foundation qualification or equivalent.

Desirable:

• Practitioner-level qualifications in business improvement, project management or change management disciplines.
• Working towards specialist practitioner accreditation within a recognised business improvement discipline.

The successful candidate must be a sole UK National who is able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
