At Perch Group, our vision is clear: to lead the UK debt purchase and collection industry by harnessing cutting-edge technology to drive ethical, efficient, and data-driven debt resolution.

Our annual mission is to empower hundreds of thousands of customers to positively engage with and resolve their outstanding debts. We do this through an empathetic and customer-centric approach that is at the heart of our success.

This role is field-based with regular travel to our Blackpool, Skipton, and Manchester offices as well as client offices.

This field-based role requires an experienced and driven individual with a strong network across Banking, Financial Services (FS), Retail, Telecommunications (Telco), and Utilities sectors. The successful candidate will be instrumental in expanding our market presence and delivering new revenue streams through acquisition of new clients and development of strategic partnerships.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a robust business development strategy to grow the debt purchase arm of the business across target sectors.
  • Identify and secure new opportunities in banking, financial services, retail, telco, and utilities, aligning with group-wide strategic goals.
  • Build and nurture relationships with key decision-makers across prospective and existing clients.
  • Represent the company at industry events, networking functions, and key client meetings.
  • Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders, including legal, operations, compliance, and marketing, to ensure alignment and effective onboarding of new clients.
  • Drive cross-sell initiatives for group services including Contingent Collections, Field Services, and Business Process Outsourcing (BPO).
  • Maintain a clear and up-to-date pipeline using CRM tools, providing regular performance and forecast reporting to the Commercial Director.
  • Ensure all business development activities are compliant with relevant industry regulations and internal governance standards.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Proven track record of success in a senior business development role within the debt purchase or related collections/credit management industry.
  • Strong commercial acumen and ability to structure complex commercial deals.
  • Extensive network and experience across at least two of the following sectors: Banking, FS, Retail, Telco, and Utilities.
  • Experience in cross-selling or promoting multi-service offerings.
  • Highly self-motivated with the ability to work autonomously in a field-based role.
  • Willingness and flexibility to travel regularly to Manchester, Skipton, and Blackpool.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience in working with large financial institutions or Tier 1 creditors.
  • Understanding of compliance and regulatory frameworks within the debt purchase industry.
  • Exposure to group-level strategy and working with C-suite stakeholders.

What's In It For You

  • A competitive base salary with a performance-based bonus scheme.
  • A collaborative and dynamic work environment with a supportive leadership team.
  • The opportunity to complete formal qualifications and learn on the job in a successful, growing organisation.
  • And many more benefits to support your wellbeing and professional development.
