At Babcock, we’re working to create a safe and secure world. Join us as a Capture Lead at one of our sites in London, Bristol, Plymouth, Portsmouth, Andover, or Walsall.

The role

As a Senior Business Development Manager, you’ll be a key growth driver, working closely with the BU Managing Director and senior management. Your main task is to plan, lead, and execute capture management and qualification of opportunities to help Babcock win and meet strategic goals.

You will collaborate with operations, commercial, business development, and bidding professionals to develop strategies and propositions that drive growth, manage multiple pursuits, and develop market entry strategies and value propositions.

  • Translate customer and competitive intelligence into win strategies and value propositions.
  • Develop partnering strategies and manage potential partners, including onboarding and integration.
  • Work with commercial and finance teams to inform arrangements and delivery models.
  • Manage qualification of opportunities, assessing strategic fit, risk, and likelihood of winning.
  • Lead and convert growth opportunities through bidding and negotiation phases.

This is a full-time role, 37.5 hours per week, with hybrid working arrangements.

Essential experience
  • Understanding of the full capture lifecycle.

  • Ability to develop compelling value propositions.
  • Proven ability to foster collaborative relationships.
  • Detailed knowledge of the Defence landscape.
Qualifications
  • Degree or equivalent experience in business, marketing, or related field.
