At Babcock, we’re working to create a safe and secure world. Join us as a Capture Lead at one of our sites in London, Bristol, Plymouth, Portsmouth, Andover, or Walsall.

The role

The Senior Business Development Manager is a key growth position, working closely with the BU Managing Director and senior management. The role involves planning, leading, and executing capture management and qualification of opportunities to achieve strategic objectives.

You will collaborate with operations, commercial, business development, and bidding teams to develop strategies and value propositions for growth. This includes managing multiple pursuits and developing market entry strategies.

  • Translate customer and competitive intelligence into win strategies.
  • Develop partnering strategies and manage partner relationships.
  • Work with commercial and finance teams on arrangements and delivery models.
  • Qualify opportunities throughout the capture phase.
  • Lead and convert growth opportunities, including bidding and negotiations.

This is a full-time role, 37.5 hours/week, with hybrid working.

Essential experience

  • Understanding of the full capture lifecycle.
  • Experience managing high-value pursuits, ideally in Defence.
  • Ability to develop compelling value propositions.
  • Proven ability to foster partnerships.
  • Knowledge of the Defence landscape.

Qualifications

  • Degree or equivalent experience, preferably in business or marketing.

Security Clearance

The candidate must achieve and maintain SC security clearance.
