Are you passionate about creating memorable experiences at international events?

We have an opportunity for a motivated Senior Business Development Manager to join the Buyer Relations team to work for Worldwide Events, the company behind m&i, Private Luxury Events, TFest and Amour.

Our story

Worldwide Events specialises in business-to-business trade events bringing together key players in the travel and events industry. We believe in making business joyful because networking should be fun!

The company is an established front-runner of the Meeting & Incentive, Luxury, and Romantic Travel sectors with events hosted in destinations such as Dubai, Ibiza, Istanbul, Seville, Oslo, The Bahamas, Jordan, Mexico - pretty great, right?

Our culture is diverse, and our people come from all over the world. We like open communication, flexible working and having a laugh because we want the office to be a place you'd like to come into each week.

About the opportunity

As a company, we're on an exciting journey of growth and development. That's where you come in...

We have an opportunity for a highly motivated Senior Business Development Manager to join us in pushing our world-class events that bit further.

The role entails all aspects of business development for both European and American markets. It will be focusing on recruiting buyers to attend our m&i events. This is a proactive sales role; knowledge of the MICE industry would be a significant advantage.

As well as an intensive telesales campaign, this role involves regular international travel at our m&i events, attendance of industry trade shows and the possibility of occasional face-to-face sales trips as we evolve in the future.

Additionally, you'll:

  • Expand our global buyer network by identifying new opportunities in the luxury travel and MICE sectors
  • Provide mentorship to junior team members and contribute to team development
  • Reach and exceed personal buyer recruitment targets every month
  • Manage the full recruitment process from prospecting to confirmed attendance of buyers
  • Nurture long-lasting relationships with clients and develop a thorough understanding of their business
  • Keep up with industry trends to advise on strategies and tactical development
  • Attend the events to further develop relationships with your clients and assist with onsite event management

Due to the nature of the events industry, you may occasionally be required to work outside of hours to meet deadlines.

About You

  • 3+ years of sales or business development experience (preferably in travel, hospitality, or events)
  • Strong strategic sales and negotiation skills
  • Experience in account management and consultative selling
  • Ability to work independently and drive results with minimal supervision
  • Confidence in networking with C-level executives

Some of the benefits of working here include:

  • 36 days of holiday (including UK Bank Holidays)
  • Hybrid working - we work smart. We understand that everyone has a life outside of work, and we hope we can enable you to live it! We operate on a hybrid working rota so teams spend half the week working in-office and the other half working from home
  • 4pm finish on Fridays - start the weekend early!

Your health

  • We understand that mental health matters - we have an employee assistance programme that is there for you to use whenever you feel the need to, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year
  • Company Sick Leave
  • Private Health Scheme (involving a contribution from the company)
  • Enhanced maternity schemes

Your experience

  • We stock all the coffee and tea you can drink as well as fresh fruit daily (and the occasional sweet treat!)
  • Your social spirit - our Happiness and Culture Team keep us on our toes with monthly socials for all employees as well as learning opportunities and drinks at the local bar!

Our approach to diversity is simple - it's about embracing everyone, and everyone is welcome at Worldwide Events. We are committed to welcoming everyone, regardless of gender identity, orientation or expression. We are diverse in age, race, physical or mental ability, ethnicity, and perspective. Our diversity fuels our innovation, brings diversity of thought, and connects us closer to our clients and the communities we serve.

All applicants must have the right to work in the United Kingdom.
