Job description

Job Title: Lead Business Development Manager – West Africa (Process Services, Oil & Gas)

Location: Angola / West Africa (Relocation preferred)

A global leader in integrated energy services is seeking a highly experienced and driven Business Development Manager to lead strategic growth from our most critical market, Angola, and expand our footprint across West Africa.

This is a leadership opportunity to not only build upon our multi-million-dollar success in Angola but to define and execute the strategy for entry into new regional markets. You will be responsible for developing our Process Services division, displacing competitors, and securing high-value contracts with major oil and gas operators.

This role requires a hands-on, visible leader who understands that business is done in person. We are looking for a strategic expert who can navigate complex client challenges and local market intricacies, particularly Angola's formal ITT (Invitation to Tender) processes, and collaborate with internal teams to build winning proposals.

What You Will Do:

  • Drive the full sales cycle in Angola, targeting contracts ranging from $500K to $5M+.
  • Develop and execute the market entry and growth strategy for new territories across West Africa.
  • Act as the commercial and strategic lead on bids, demonstrating a deep understanding of local customs, challenges, and tender processes.
  • Cultivate deep, in-person relationships with key stakeholders, from technical teams to senior executives, within client organisations.
  • Identify, engage, and build a network of reliable, "on the ground" local partners and service providers to ensure successful delivery.

What We Are Looking For:

  • Market Knowledge: You must have a proven track record of winning service contracts in the West African oil and gas market. Deep experience in Angola, including a thorough understanding of its unique business culture and ITT processes, is essential.
  • Essential Experience: A strong background in a services-focused business within the oil and gas sector is required. Experience from an EPC background is not suitable for this role.
  • Strategic Growth Mindset: You must be a strategic thinker who can not only win business but also build the roadmap for sustainable regional expansion. You see the challenges of entering new markets as an opportunity.
  • Mentality: We need a proactive, energetic, and resilient "hunter" who is a highly visible, on-the-ground leader. You must be prepared to be externally focused, building relationships and driving business forward in person.
  • Technical Acumen: A strong understanding of industrial and process services is crucial. A background in mechanical engineering is highly preferred.
  • Location: The successful candidate will be required to locate themselves in Angola to lead our operations from this key hub.
