Job Title –Senior Business Analyst – Travel Sector

Our client is a globally recognised and award-winning tour operator, offering holidays to Asia and South America.
As a senior business analyst within the London-based business analysis team, you will be working to ensure the successful delivery of several new information technology solutions to the business.
Main Responsibilities:
- Managing a team of business analysts/coordinating work to be picked up by the BA team;
- Providing support to the project manager with information on the current travel management system functionality;
- Performing problem analysis, including understanding the root causes of system problems;
- Working with the development team leader to ensure that problems are properly solved and there is continuous improvement in the quality of deliverables;
- Aiding the business to produce workarounds where system requirements cannot be fully met;
- Ensuring that the business requirements gathered are fully analysed, with appropriate engagement from the business;
- Ensuring that business requirements are well developed and documented including functional, non-functional and reporting requirements;
- Documenting and mapping of ‘As Is’ and ‘To Be’ operational processes including interviewing SMEs and conducting workshops when required;
- Providing advice to the business on potential impacts and risks when new or amended requirements are proposed;
- Contributing to the business analysis team’s KPI’s and objectives;
- Maintaining a broad understanding of all company systems.
Skills, Experience and Qualifications:
- Experience developing travel management system/reservations systems highly desirable;
- Strong knowledge of business analysis techniques and how to apply these to a software development project;
- BCS or IIBA Business Analyst certification;
- Minimum 5 years’ experience as a business analyst preferably within the travel industry;
- Strong experience with strategy analysis outlining future system capabilities;
- Ability to proactively communicate with external and internal customers;
- Proven ability to critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources;
- Proven ability to collaborate with project teams, including distributed teams, to understand recommendations, limitations and development options – within the business environment that you will be working;
- Ability to prepare documentation including; business cases, stakeholder maps, user journeys stories, business requirements documents etc.;
- Excellent time management skills;
- Experience working with Atlassian products (Jira and Confluence)
- Proven ability to effectively manage a varied and busy workload and to meet deadlines;
- Patient, organised and detail orientated;
- Excellent technical and personal skills;
- Proactive, flexible and confident to demonstrate initiative;
- Exposure to working within an Agile environment or understanding the principles of Agile software development;
- Experience working on multiple complex projects simultaneously.
