Hybrid Role (4 days in the office & 1 day working from home)

Who We Are

Wayfair is reinventing the way people shop for their homes and our team is tasked with building a best-in-class Home retail business across the UK and German markets. In the EU Retail Tech & Analytics team, you will enable Category Management to grow their business through data-driven analytics, scalable tooling solutions, and streamlined processes. This is an ideal opportunity for candidates who are interested in entering the technology and e-commerce space, developing hands-on analytical and technical skills, and working closely with core business functions to drive real impact and results.

With your highly analytical mindset, you will provide strategic direction and guidance to Category Management and strengthen their ability to take the right decisions. You’ll play a key role in building cutting-edge ‘Big Data’ and leveraging these unique, proprietary, and massive datasets, coupled with a constant flow of experimentation on consumer response, to answer thorny questions that guide our go-to-market strategy. By identifying opportunities to grow our business, you’ll make sure that we have the right data to drive performance across various Wayfair’s Recipe items, from competitive pricing to operational excellence up to having the right selection & assortment.

Being a part of EU Retail Tech & Analytics means you enjoy setting and driving a vision and operating analytically to get results, whilst keeping a hard focus on execution of high-impact tasks for your team and yourself. Strong communication is critical for success in the team given the interaction with various cross-functional stakeholders to ensure alignment is tight and priorities are agreed upon.

What You’ll Do

  • Ensure Category Management has the right data to drive decisions
  • Own, build and maintain the frontend (dashboards) and backend (data structure and architecture) of tools
  • Apply business acumen to provide opportunities for Category Management through data-driven analyses
  • Conduct competitive and product category evaluation to assess market trends
  • Drive relationships and collaboration with cross-functional teams

What You’ll Need

  • Strong communication skills: ability to work effectively and persuasively with a highly cross-functional group of business partners
  • Strong business acumen: ability to understand how various parts of the business interact; can identify and approach problems from a customer or supplier perspective
  • Exceptional analytical and quantitative skills: excited about working with and synthesizing big data into actionable insights; comfortable using data software to conduct analyses and synthesize findings
  • Exceptional problem-solving and execution skills: ability to make decisions, reprioritize tasks, and draw conclusions in the face of ambiguity
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Proficiency in data analytics and working with large data sets; excitement about finding patterns in data
  • Familiarity with any programming language is a plus, including motivation to learn and develop the skill set (Google BigQuery/SQL, R, Python)
