We are seeking a Senior Business Analyst to join our London team, focusing on enhancing the effectiveness of our capital markets operations. The ideal candidate is a strategic and analytical thinker capable of assessing current processes, identifying improvement opportunities, and leading operational changes. They will collaborate closely with stakeholders across the business to gather requirements, analyze data, and deliver insights that support continuous improvement and informed decision-making.
Responsibilities
- Identification of Opportunities: Develop a deep understanding of the capital markets business and its operations. Collaborate with senior management, business stakeholders, and functional heads to identify opportunities for improving current operations, ensuring alignment with company objectives, regulatory requirements, governance standards, and market best practices.
- Technology Application: Stay updated on new technologies and tools relevant to capital markets. Perform cost-benefit analyses and recommend use cases to senior management, including the Head of IT.
- Data Analysis: Utilize data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and insights related to business performance and operational efficiency.
- Requirement Documentation: Document business requirements for new projects and initiatives, working closely with project sponsors and IT to establish plans.
- Project Management: Manage project deliverables and milestones with key stakeholders. Monitor KPIs and provide regular updates to senior management.
- Quality Assurance and Testing: Collaborate with IT to develop test cases, oversee testing procedures, and document results for go-live approval.
- Market Data Monitoring: Stay informed about industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices through research and sharing findings with the team.
Qualifications, Experience, and Skills
- Relevant Degree (e.g., Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Systems, or Finance) or certifications (e.g., CBAP, Agile Analysis Certification) are beneficial.
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in Financial or Professional Services within the banking industry.
- Strong analytical and data skills.
- Proficiency in documenting Business and Functional Requirements and report writing.
- Excellent communication and project management skills.
- Experience with User Acceptance Testing (UAT), Quality Assurance (QA), and test automation.
- Familiarity with programming languages such as Python, Java, or C# is advantageous.
- Experience in identifying automation opportunities using tools like CoPilot, PowerAutomate, etc.
- Expected to work in the office at least 4 days per week.
- Advanced MS Excel skills for data analysis.
- Good knowledge of MS SQL and query writing.
- Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
