Senior Business Analyst, Institutional Banking & Distribution, Business Development

It is the oldest African bank in the UK. Due to business requirements, we are now seeking an experienced Senior Business Analyst.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the Head of Wholesale Banking & Financing Solutions and Deputy Head of Institutional Banking & Distribution in driving IB business strategy in Sub Saharan Africa.
  • Manage existing African FI relationships and enhance the unit's profitability in line with the Bank’s Risk Appetite, IBFI budget projections, target markets, and global strategy.
Key Skills/Experience:
  • Support the Relationship Manager in achieving the Department’s Budget.
  • Drive business origination by marketing new relationships to improve revenue, onboarding, and retention.
  • Prepare and deliver credit applications for review by Credit Risk, with strong analytical skills and understanding of Financial Statement Analysis for Banking Clients.
  • Ensure compliance with KYC and KYB requirements, including full reviews and onboarding processes.
  • Coordinate with the Business Risk Review team to complete client outreaches and memos timely.
  • Monitor Financial Statement review due dates and seek Board approval for extensions.
  • Prepare limit extension requests and ensure system limits are updated post-approval.
  • Distribute weekly Financial Institutions Limits Report.
  • Handle customer queries efficiently.
  • Assist Relationship Managers in prospecting, due diligence, monitoring, and portfolio management.
Experience / Knowledge:
  • Experience in Financial Institutions, UK Regulatory knowledge, Credit Analysis, KYC & KYB requirements, research, and analytical skills.
  • Understanding of International Trade Finance.
  • Experience in the African market is advantageous.
  • French language skills desirable.
  • Experience with audited financial statements for Banks.
  • Familiarity with Moody’s Analytical and other Risk Rating tools.
