We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Business Analyst to work on an Integration Programme within our Finance Workstream.

Nationwide's Finance area is responsible for managing the organisations financial health, ensuring regulatory compliance and supporting strategic decision making. Key functions include:

  • Financial reporting, Reconciliation and Accounting
  • Budgeting and Forecasting
  • Profitability and Performance Analysis
  • Risk & Compliance
  • Treasury

As a Senior Business Analyst you will be collaborating with and influencing senior stakeholders designing and delivering business solutions, which add significant value, achieve business success and help us to meet the societies needs. The current portfolio of work would include change initiatives such as:

  • Migration of reconciliations from legacy platform to strategic, cloud based platform
  • Migration of accounting rules and functionality from legacy platforms to strategic, on premise platform
  • Migration of financial forecasting and analysis from legacy platform to strategic, cloud based platform
  • Various new or enhancements to existing regulatory frameworks and reporting reports and functions

We’re looking for a candidate who is proactive, motivated, with proven leadership skills and drive for quality.

You will be accountable for the scoping and shaping of the analysis activities, for both inflight and upcoming demand, translating the business needs into relevant deliverables and providing insightful analysis and design expertise to ensure successful completion of OKRs.

What you’ll be doing

A key priority for this role is to support our colleagues within Finance, working in partnership with other change roles to ensure the full breadth of change is understood, the design meets the need, dependencies are identified, business analysis approach and artefacts are planned and delivered, with the required insight incorporated.

With relevant experience under your belt, you’ll be using your business analysis or solution design knowledge to identify solutions and approaches that achieve the best business outcome, influencing technology and business resolutions with confidence and innovation, taking into account any external factors and dependencies.

You will be responsible for task and line managing Business Analysts, ensuring that their work is estimated, scheduled, prioritised and meets quality expectations. You will use your strong communication skills to engage with diverse change team participants and establish influencing relationships with business stakeholders and the leadership team.

You’ll be using your own initiative in this role and required to work with a pro-active mindset and an aim to identify, escalate and resolve issues/risks. As a Senior Business Analyst, you’ll strive for continuous development in your work and coach your team in terms of using Best Practice Techniques.

About you

We ask that you have:

  • Experience at delivering, prioritising, sequencing and sizing Business Analysis activities
  • Domain experience or knowledge of Finance and/or integration activities
  • Proven analytical skills in defining business outcomes, business requirements, process modelling, operational designs, target operating models and supporting end-to-end delivery
  • Adept at problem identification and resolution, providing meaningful insight and recommendations to facilitate solution discussions
  • A strong understanding of project governance deliverables
  • Adopts a collaborative approach, working in partnership with other change roles, ensuring the full breadth of change is understood
  • The ability to confidently communicate, with the ability to present information to senior stakeholders reporting on progress, blockers and challenges
  • Proven task and line management experience

Ability to accommodate differing needs of multi-disciplined and geographically dispersed teams, consisting of internal and external resources e.g. Third-party suppliers, remote colleagues and contractors.
