Job description

Role Purpose:
We're looking for a Senior Business Analyst interested in joining a progressive IT development environment, within an organisation that is continuing their exciting growth as they continue to push their innovative software in to the market. This role can be predominately home based, or hybrid, though there will be on average a few days a month required in the office for team days or meetings. The primary function of this role is to extract and understand business change requirements, bring to life ideas, needs and proposals using a range of appropriate and targeted techniques. ,including: interviews; workshops; site visits; use cases; business task, process and workflow analysis

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:
• Interpret business and marketing requirements into developmental tasks that the SCRUM teams use to guide the software development process.
• Create business requirement specifications, SRS (system requirement specifications), use case lists and details, user stories and wireframes for complex use cases if needed.
• Work closely with the key stakeholders, business functions and project, you will assist in the identification and refinement of requirements, documenting these in a structured way which will form the platform for IT or external supplier analysis and system design.
• Supported by the wider team you will also use your expertise to conceptualise software solutions to troubleshoot problems the company is facing. You may be required to assist PM's in facilitating project scope, estimation and planning.
• In addition, you will form part of a community of analysts, sharing best practice, striving for continuous improvement, championing collaborative values, and promoting self-organisation. You will help to mentor and upskill the analysts in the area on best practice.

Skills, Experience and Knowledge:
• Ability to facilitate workshops to elicit business requirements.
• Experience of business process mapping and analysis, including As-Is & To-Be processes and scenarios.
• Demonstrates a variety of techniques to create, refine, split and map business requirements.
• Define and author structured BA documentation as required (e.g., requirements documents, end-user guides, process maps etc.)
• Act as a conduit between the Business, Developers and Support.
• Be able to mentor professional develop other analysts
• Liaise with users and key suppliers as required.
• Efficiently integrating new systems, programs, and applications with business operations and services. Working with business stakeholders to ensure deliverables are effectively handed-over to day-to-day operational process.
• Significant experience working as a Business Analyst in a professional IT environment or in a equivalent role in a change delivery context
• Knowledge of programming languages like SQL and system integration solutions.
• Understanding in system design, UMLs, DB schemas and API's
• Familiarity with design tools such as Figma to collaborate with stakeholders
• Demonstrates competency in Change Delivery skills.
• Experience of and involvement in the entire project lifecycle and using Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
• Able to communicate effectively and accurately in a diplomatic manner
• Workshop facilitation skills for requirements gathering analysis.
• Able to facilitate workshops for product backlog creation
• Business Process mapping, analysis, definition of workarounds etc.
• Demonstrates a variety of techniques to create, refine, split and map User Stories
• Ability to identify, articulate and communicate value
• Agile environment experience & understanding
• Excellent organisation, personal and project planning skills.

Preferred:
• A bachelor's degree in computer science or information technology
• Detailed knowledge of how to effectively use Microsoft office packages, including Microsoft Project, Excel, Word, Powerpoint, Visio, Outlook
• Ability to build & maintain effective working relationships with internal and external personnel.
