Working in our UK support functions you’ll play a key part in helping our customer facing colleagues deliver exceptional standards of customer service and patient care. The role is part of the Data Operations team within the overall UKI Data & Analytics department, with the aim of developing new analytic and production data reporting solutions, based on the principals of production effectiveness and optimisation.

How y ou’ll help us make health happen :

  • Maintain a sound knowledge of business operations, with a high level of data technical expertise
  • Work with fellow analysts, non technical business managers and colleagues to understand the desired outcome and what insights are necessary for their decision making
  • Communicate effectively and clearly to help colleagues understand the work and to fully establish business needs and help evolve business requirements and solutions
  • Support the running of month end production process as we evolve the automation of these and migrate from SAS EG to Viya and Snowflake hosted data solutions
  • End to end development and testing of new production codes and processes
  • Work on tasks that are purely technology driven as well as those that are business and regulatory focused, needing data exploration and agile solution development
  • Establish quality checking procedures on new code solutions and they are effective, robust and appropriate
  • Make recommendation for improvements, actively looking for opportunities to optimise existing business data solutions

Key Skills / Qualifications needed for this role:

  • Proven experience of using industry standard tools and processing with large complex and intricate datamarts and datasets
  • Experience with health care and finance data sets is an advantage, experience in a database programming languages strongly preferred.
  • Experience in working with RDMS such as Oracle or SQL Server and cloud-based data platforms – Snowflake
  • Experienced in at least one: SQL dialect (T-SQL, PostgreSQL, MSSQL, MYSQL) and SAS language
  • Ability to understand where efficiencies can be gained from application of technology and taking the appropriate course of action to implement and deliver benefits
  • Ability to deal responsibly with confidential data, understanding data governance controls
