Role overview

The Business Analysts within our team are key to the success of our project delivery methodology. They work with stakeholders at all levels across the business to uncover and document detailed requirements that form the basis of a successful project. They also ensure that any changes to requirements are captured along the way.

The team works alongside our Testers to ensure that requirements are fully covered and understood during test preparation and collaborates with Project Managers to help manage scope and change control. Additionally, capturing requirements at such a detailed level means that our BAs become experienced systems users and are therefore key to supporting testing activities and our in-house Training Team with the rollout of business change and post go live support.

Our BAs need to be excellent communicators (both written and oral), persuasive, analytical and tenacious. We’re looking for someone with experience of working in a similar environment - used to working with Stakeholders at all levels and comfortable leading workshops and delivering training.

The key responsibilities for the Senior Business Analyst role at Hill Dickinson are:

  • Able to demonstrate a high level of experience of Business Analysis across multiple departments and functions, with preferably a good knowledge of Hill Dickinson (Yellow Belt or above)
  • To lead the Business Analysis team and drive change and improvements within the team
  • To be the key point of contact for the team with other teams
  • To ensure consistency of process and documentation within the Business Analysis team
  • To provide support to other Business Analysts on projects and as Business Analysts
  • To mentor less experienced members of the Business Analysis team
  • To carry out the role of Business Analyst on projects covering analysis of current processes and requirements for new processes, documentation of current and new processes, decisions, etc., testing support, and training & post go live support

What we are looking for

  • Demonstrate knowledge and application of Lean Six Sigma practices for continuous improvement, process mapping of business activities
  • LSS Data approach and high understanding of data to identify opportunities and measure success
  • Extensive experience of business analysis practices and documentation, including analysis and investigation
  • Ability to work on complex projects as the sole or lead Business Analyst
  • Leadership skills to improve project processes and mentor team members
  • Strong knowledge of MS Word and MS Excel
  • Experience in requirements gathering, workshop delivery, process mapping, and gap analysis
  • Stakeholder management skills in complex environments
  • Ability to understand and adapt to rapid business changes
  • Tact and diplomacy in stakeholder interactions
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Experience with complex data migrations and upgrade projects involving systems and technical infrastructure
  • Knowledge of the legal sector and legal software systems or insurance sector processes and systems
