Job Description

The Pension Administration Business was established in 1993. Our core business is the provision of services to trustees of UK occupational pension schemes (DB, DC, CARE, cash balance). We offer these services as a stand-alone 'admin-only' appointment or in conjunction with other Barnett Waddingham Business Areas.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Business Analyst to join the team in one of our offices in Guildford, Birmingham, Bristol, Cheltenham, Leeds, Liverpool, or Glasgow on a hybrid basis.

Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate large-scale requirements and business processes, identify viable solutions, and work with the team and Product Owners to assess, develop, and implement efficient solutions that deliver the required outcomes.
  • Prepare and deliver comprehensive business analysis documentation using structured methodologies and modelling techniques within a project environment.
  • Provide analytical insights to support business development opportunities, acting as an expert in business and process analysis.
  • Support pre-project activities such as preparing business cases, impact assessments, cost/benefit analyses, and identifying key users and markets.
  • Document complex business and system requirements (user stories).
  • Facilitate workshops to support business analysis processes.
  • Guide and support IT teams during system development.
  • Contribute to business readiness planning and activities.
  • Assist in developing user training programs.
  • Collaborate across teams to identify process improvements.
  • Create and review detailed test scenarios using relevant tools.
  • Manage project budgets and communicate with the Project Manager regarding concerns.
  • Promote effective team working and support team members.
  • Identify and escalate potential process gaps or changes.
  • Provide data to support cost and time estimations for solutions.
  • Monitor key data to measure project benefits and support benefit realization.
  • Obtain approvals for material changes from stakeholders.
  • Stay updated on legislation and industry developments and assess their impact on practices.

Candidate Profile:

  • A relevant degree or Business Analysis qualification with appropriate experience.
  • Strong understanding of Business Analysis concepts.
  • Excellent communication, technical writing, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to analyze complex requirements and propose innovative solutions.
  • Structured, analytical approach to work and problem-solving.
  • Organizational skills to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Adaptability to various software applications, including BW-specific tools.
  • Understanding of software's role in improving business processes and testing.
  • Experience mapping and maintaining detailed process flows.
  • Experience working in project teams.
