Senior Building Surveyor/Project Manager
Location: Watford
Remuneration: Starting salary £45,000 - £60,000 per annum. Annual bonus scheme. Car contribution. Holiday package: 22 days (+BH + Christmas closure). Progression opportunities. Chartership support. Due to ongoing success and growth, the Academy Estate team is looking to expand its professional Surveying and Project Management department by recruiting a Senior Building Surveyor/Project Manager for their new Watford office. You will be responsible for the procurement and delivery of various construction, mechanical, and electrical projects, including new builds, fire door renewals, cladding and window renewals, heating and ventilation systems, electrical distribution, fire alarm renewals, laboratory refurbishments, and drainage replacements.
As the Senior Building Surveyor/Project Manager, your responsibilities will include project management, contract administration, and employers’ agent duties mainly for education clients. This involves feasibility studies, condition surveys, defect analysis, measured surveys, specification writing, contract administration, and project delivery. You will conduct site inspections, chair meetings, and provide progress and financial reports.
APC support and mentoring are available for surveyors aiming for MRICS qualification. Benefits include annual holiday entitlement, pension contributions, a competitive salary, participation in an annual bonus scheme, and staff social events.
To qualify, you should hold an RICS-accredited Building Surveying degree (or similar) and have experience in a surveying consultancy, preferably with education projects. Experience in project management and contract administration is essential. You should be motivated, positive, and collaborative. The role requires office-based work with site visits, a forward-thinking attitude, adaptability, and a driver’s license with access to a vehicle.
