Senior Building Surveyor – Essex | Flexible Working | Career Progression

A leading and fast-growing multi-disciplinary surveying practice is seeking an experienced Senior Building Surveyor to join its expanding team in Essex. This is a rare opportunity to step into a senior role with scope to lead, mentor, and grow a team — while delivering high-quality surveying services across residential and commercial sectors.

With a strong reputation for reliability, personal service, and technical expertise, this position is ideal for a chartered (or nearly chartered) surveyor who thrives on variety and is looking to develop their leadership skills within a dynamic and ambitious firm.

Key Responsibilities:

• Preparing detailed specifications and tender documentation
• Managing contract administration duties across refurbishment and maintenance projects
• Conducting building surveys and defect analysis
• Advising on party wall matters, dilapidations, and licence to alter
• Leading project delivery and maintaining programme and cost control
• MRICS or close to achieving chartership
• Broad experience across residential and commercial surveying
• Strong capability in project-based work and professional reporting
• Excellent leadership potential and client service skills
• A confident communicator and skilled collaborator
• Motivated to grow a team and shape company direction
• Strong understanding of contractual processes and statutory compliance
• Location: Essex (flexible working options)
• Contract Type: Permanent
• Salary: Competitive, based on experience
