Job summary

Aldwych Consulting Ltd is seeking a Senior Building Surveyor to take ownership of a varied portfolio across West & Central London. You will lead projects from instruction to completion, act as Contract Administrator, and drive client relationships with an emphasis on quality, cost and timely delivery.

The role offers significant autonomy, exposure to high-end residential, local authority and education projects, and a clear path for career progression within a supportive team.

Qualifications

• 10+ years' Building Surveying experience.
• MRICS status preferred, but not essential.
• Strong Contract Administration experience.
• Broad Building Surveying background across multiple service lines.
• Experience managing projects and client relationships autonomously.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Positive, dependable approach and ambition to progress.

Responsibilities

• Managing projects from initial instruction through to completion.
• Acting as Contract Administrator on refurbishment and maintenance schemes.
• Preparing specifications, scopes of work and tender documentation.
• Managing contractors, consultants and site progress.
• Chairing site meetings and monitoring programme, cost and quality.
• Carrying out surveys, preparing reports and providing technical advice.
• Developing and maintaining strong client relationships.
• Supporting and mentoring junior surveyors and apprentices.
• Contributing to business development and the continued growth of the service.
• Handling Party Wall matters where required.

We're working with a growing construction consultancy that is building an excellent reputation across West and Central London. With a strong pipeline of work and an expanding client base, they're looking for an experienced Senior Building Surveyor to join the team and play a key role in the continued growth of the business.
This is a great opportunity for someone who wants more than just project delivery - you'll have the autonomy to manage your own work, build strong client relationships and have a genuine influence on the direction of the team.

The Role
You'll take ownership of a varied portfolio of projects across sectors including:

• High-end residential and landlord portfolios
• Local authority projects across London
• Education
• Refurbishment and maintenance
• Party Wall matters, particularly within the residential sector

Your responsibilities will include:

• Managing projects from initial instruction through to completion
• Acting as Contract Administrator on refurbishment and maintenance schemes

About You
We're looking for an experienced Building Surveyor who can operate confidently and independently, ideally with:

• 10+ years' Building Surveying experience
• MRICS status preferred, but not essential
• Strong Contract Administration experience
• A broad Building Surveying background across multiple service lines
• Experience managing projects and client relationships autonomously
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
• A positive, dependable approach and genuine ambition to progress
