Overview

We are working with a growing Multi-Disciplinary Design & Surveying Consultancy based near Ely, seeking to appoint a Senior Building Surveyor to support continued expansion across commercial, industrial, and specialist sectors.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced or chartered Building Surveyor to lead on a diverse portfolio of projects. You'll collaborate closely with clients, working across all stages of design, delivery, and compliance to ensure high-quality project outcomes.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct detailed building surveys, identify defects, and provide remedial advice with cost implications
  • Lead design and specification work for refurbishments, new builds, and remedial schemes
  • Manage projects from inception to completion, ensuring delivery on time and within budget
  • Advise clients on legislation, building regulations, health & safety and compliance matters
  • Maintain strong client relationships and act as a trusted advisor throughout project lifecycle
  • Support business development activities, contributing to bids and building a professional network
Skills & Experience Required
  • Proven experience as a Building Surveyor
  • Strong technical background with hands-on project delivery experience
  • Chartered or working towards MRICS / MCIOB (preferred but not essential)
  • Confident leading client meetings, managing expectations, and delivering strategic advice
  • Knowledge of building regulations, construction standards, and relevant legislation
  • Competent using surveying and design software, with excellent reporting and documentation skills
  • Self-motivated, organised, and able to work independently or lead a small team
  • Full UK driving licence - willingness to travel locally for projects
